Course Prerequisites: The participant should either have basic working knowledge of management principles, experience working in some form of leadership capacity, or will be doing so in the near and foreseeable future.
This four-session course examines the organizational role that each manager and supervisor takes on within the enterprise in which they work. The course provides practical approaches to effectively take on both the functional and team management responsibilities of all leaders. Participants will learn how they impact the workplace and the employees reporting to them, how they can best integrate themselves and their function into the business breaking down silos and building strong cross-functional relationships, the legal aspects of management and supervision and how to develop and manage operating budgets and understand enterprise-level financial reporting. Topics include:

Course Prerequisites: MGX 931 (recommended). The participant should either have basic working knowledge of management principles, experience working in some form of leadership capacity, or will be doing so in the near and foreseeable future.
This four-session course examines the specific functional role that each manager and supervisor takes on within the enterprise in which they work. The course provides practical approaches to effectively take on the core areas of functional management responsibilities. Participants will learn how they can effectively impact their department operations through the application of project management techniques, metrics and analytics, change management and operational costing and cost variance analysis. Topics include:

Course Prerequisites: MGX 931, MGX 933 (recommended). The participant should either have basic working knowledge of management principles, experience working in some form of leadership capacity, or will be doing so in the near and foreseeable future.
This four-session course examines what the manager and supervisor should do to build and develop a strong and effective team of employees to accomplish departmental and company goals. The course provides practical approaches to effectively select, train, and engage employee team members, and to address workplace efficiencies, productivity and other issues. Participants will learn how they can positively impact their department operations through team development best practices. Topics include:

Course Prerequisites: MGX 931, MGX 933, MGX 935 (recommended). The participant should either have basic working knowledge of management principles, experience working in some form of leadership capacity, or will be doing so in the near and foreseeable future.
This four-session course examines effective approaches, techniques and actions managers and supervisors should take to manage the members of the departmental team, as well as achieving positive outcomes working with inter-departmental team members and leaders. The course provides practical approaches to address team performance issues, manage performance through performance management techniques, influence others to achieve desired outcomes, and how to manage a team through effective negotiations in a collective bargaining environment. Topics include:
